As mentioned in our previous post our bathroom was the other room in our house we definitely needed to bring into the 21st century. It was blue, cracking, peeling and what is with the miniature bath? Our dog would barely fit in there....
We knew that this would be a massive job and not something we felt comfortable taking on ourselves considering all the waterproofing and plumbing that would be involved and we didn't want issues down the line so we opted to hire a professional.
Although one day I would love to try my hand at tiling, this was not that day.
Lucky for us when the builder did all the demo there was nothing of concern, like mold, which we were really concerned about as the shower base and some tiles were cracked. So we were able to push on with the pretty stuff.
Our key must haves were a window (there was an older skylight in here but it was covered up when the previous owner redid the roof so we got no natural light in here), walk in shower, a full size bath and a modern feel. We opted to go for large, square floor tiles in a beautiful marbley, grey colour and these really fun textured white metro tiles for the
walls. And some cool, matte black fixtures to keep it nice and monochrome. For the vanity we wanted to bring in something a little different so we chose this light wood look floating system which we think suits the space really well.
Our builder also suggested that we get a fan/light combo in one so we could remove the exhaust from above the shower for a cleaner look.
Although we had some issues with the builder and items needing fixing we are really happy with how it turned out. It feels so much bigger and of course more modern than before.
What do you think?
Love TM xx
