We are switching gears today and doing a DIY that isn't home related!
This is just a lil somethin somethin I put together for my bridal shower way back when, but this would work for any type of party. It’s super cute and can be personalised to any theme or colour scheme. It’s great for party decor but I think it would also lend itself well to a nursery!
Let’s talk about how easy this is!
Materials:
Tomato cage
Spray paint (optional)
Faux flowers & greenery of choice
Floral wire
Hot glue
Something to hang the piece (I used twine)
Wire cutters or pliers
Method:
1. Remove the rings off of the tomato cage with your wire cutters or pliers so that the circles are now separate from the frame.
2. Since my cage was red and this didn't lend itself to my parties theme I am spray painting mine. I ensured that I covered both sides of the rings so the original colour could not show through.
One of my rings split where it had joined the cage so I simply hot glued it back together and will strategically place it so that it isn’t visible on the final piece.
3. Once dry, arrange your rings how you would like them to sit and begin wrapping floral wire around where they join, tightly.
4. Begin cutting your faux flowers so that there is approximately 2 inches of stem below the flower. The stem can then be wrapped around the rings where you would like them placed. Any additional flowers can be used to fill gaps and just be hot glued into place.
I concentrated my flowers around areas of imperfections on the rings so that they were no longer visible, mainly the joins.
5. Hang your rings in your method of choice. I simply tied twine to the outermost rings but command hooks or similar would be a great alternative.
Hope you guys enjoyed this little DIY and it inspires you to get creative yourselves!
Love TM xx
