G’day everyone!
We thought we should share little tidbits that make up our story and we're going to begin with "The Proposal".
So, ever since we had gotten engaged I have been asked how I actually asked Taylor to marry me and that's exactly what this post is about.
A few weeks before we flew out on our first "solo" overseas holiday, I was home alone with Taylor’s parents, and thought this would be a great time to ask for permission for their daughters hand in marriage. Let’s just say there was a water show in the kitchen, a very exciting day! (Funnily enough later that night Taylor’s older brother announced that he is now engaged).
Weeks go past and it’s time to find the ring!! I went shopping with my best mate Nathan and we looked at a few different rings and stores. This one ring stood out above the rest by far, we LOVED it. This is the ring I know Taylor will love!
Lets fast forward to America, I planned to propose to Taylor in New York at the end of our holiday. So I had to hide this ring in my luggage for 4 weeks without Taylor seeing it! Not to mention I was having credit card troubles in the first week of our holiday. So Taylor being the lovely person she is offered to help, which I had to shut down immediately so she couldn’t see the purchase. Luckily enough I worked it all out with keeping it a secret.
The morning was here, Christmas morning in New York! Today is the day that I finally get to
ask the love of my life to marry me. We get up early and go ice-skating, I hide the box in my coat pocket and I’m ready to go. Skates go on and we jump on the ice (at this stage I was still thinking how can I ask whilst we are ice-skating). Then a perfect opportunity arises, Taylor asked me to do a lap and she can film my majestic skating. I start doing my lap and pull the box out (nearly bloody dropping it) I am so excited. I finally do a lap, I am getting so close to Taylor.. and I get cut off, have to do a spin and nearly fall flat on my face! I gather myself on one knee.
And the rest is history
Love M xx
