When we moved into our home there were a few jobs that needed to be done before our puppy could come live with us. Our yard was not secure at all and he would have to either be inside all the time or constantly watched while he was in the yard.
So the first thing we did was add a roller door to our carport and this would secure the back yard!
However, the front yard only had a fence along the front and didn't secure the side of the property so that was our next priority. Lucky for us Mitch's Dad had experience having had built his own deck, and he also had all the tools on hand that we would need to get this project done!
First things first was to measure how long the fence will be and how many posts we need to place in the ground and calculate how many palings we would need to buy, turns out, its A LOT.
We used my Dads hole digger to make life a lot easier!! Then we placed our posts into the ground adding the cement then getting it as level as possible. Next up was getting the correct measurements for our beams to join our posts. Once all of our support beams were screwed into place it was time to start nailing our fence pickets into place! (This was a very lengthy stage as we didn't have a nail gun to help us)
The last step to completing our fence was to install our gate. As we already have a path laid in the yard we wanted to gate to match it's width. Unfortunately the premade gates don't quite match but we were able to add a few additional pickets to it and it looks great!
Overall we are sooo stoked with how it turned out!! And the puppy is loving the extra space as well!
Love T&M xx
